The Riad in Marrakech
In one of the most hidden parts of the medina, only a few dozen meters from the place Riad Larouss and important monuments such as the medersa and the mosque Ben Youssef, a new riad has opened, “Le Coq Berbere”. Twin to the close riad “Le Coq Fou”, whose two owners, Elisabetta Caracciolo and Barbara Galanti have supervised the renovation and furnishing.
The new riad is located at the ancient home of a notable of Marrakech. Rooms are spacious, and so are the splendid terrace and patio in the entrance, at the centre of which a classical arab fountain is displayed. The entrance is from Derb Assabane. Like magic, you find yourself from a narrow and anonymous alley in an oasis of elegance and tranquillity.
In the riad there is also a small massage room (treatments with essential and argan oils). You can enjoy a typical Moroccan dinner if you book it in the morning: an experience not to be missed, especially if you dine on the terrace, becouse it’s on the terraces that you can fully enjoy the charm of this unique city, while the muezzin calls to prayer, and the eco of sounds and voices comes from the nearby square Jemaa al Fna, the throbbing heart and inexhaustible stage of attractions of Marrakech, yesterday and today. |
